Learn More About Mac Compatible Photo Printers

Sharon asks…
small printer help? ?
i need a small printer, something thatll print 8.5×11
not a photo printer, but a supersmall 8.5×11 printer.
Mac compatible

Matt Matty answers:
It depends on what you are willing to spend. If you want the smallest printer that will actually give you a decene print, take a look into Canon or HP’s tiny portable printers (see link below). These printers start at around $250, though. However, they are portable and are popular with truck drivers and business people who have limited space.
If that is too much, the smallest printer I can think of is the HP D2530 for $40. You might also want to look at Small Portable Printers for Macs, I’m sure you’ll find something here to help you out.

Your Questions About Mac Compatible Photo Printers

Paul asks…
Are HP photo printers a good choice for using on macs?
I know HP is popular and good maybe but aren’t there any anti-HP people out there? The hewlettpackard printers are compatible with mac, but does HP really work good on macs? I’m looking to buy a photo printer, I would like any reccommendations.

Matt Matty answers:
Yes, they work great and are my favorite printers but before you buy, check the model numbers and make sure they are compatible with the iPad and iPhone in case you may want to print using these hand held devices – either now or in the future.
Good site that lists those printers can be found here: iPad Compatible Printers | Wireless Apple Tablet Printing

Helen asks…

Your Questions About Best Printers For Mac And Pc

Linda asks…
My photo printer’s print quality changes when I print from my Mac as opposed to my PC?
I have an Epson photo stylus R1800, and when I print from my PC the prints come out great. The problem is when I print from my Power Mac, even when I set all of the dialog boxes to “best quality” and “super photo” quality w/ the appropriate paper type, the prints are coming out very faded with pink bands.
Again, this does not happen when I print from the PC.
Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas?
I have tried printing from the networked printer and switching so the mac is actually hardwired to the printer.
I feeling I am missing something really stupid and simple.
Thanks for your help!
** I have the latest driver installed.
The problem isn’t that it “doesn’t print”
it prints…but the quality of the photos look as if they have been sitting in the sun for 3 weeks, and have pink bands on them.
I’ve never seen anything like it…!

Matt Matty answers:
To print properly you have to calibrate both the screen and the printer to print colors properly. It seems like you got lucky on the PC being calibrated properly to match the printer, while the Mac is not. If you are serious about printing then you need to make sure you are using the proper profiles and have all your devices calibrated. Here is a link to more info. Read the below link to get off to the right start then search the web for more information when you are ready.
